My first applique top

I did this without a pattern, and I'm really pleased with how it looks. Tomorrow, I need to go buy some backing fabric so I can start quilting this baby. I have all sorts of plans in mind, thanks to Angela Walters' free motion feathers class on Craftsy. It's also my first time working with batiks.

Thanks, everyone! This is going to hang in our little beach cottage. We wanted something bright and colorful for the walls. I get to start quilting it today! I'm excited and nervous. I was nervous when I started putting on the bright colors, too. The blues were so peaceful and calm, I was afraid that the bright colors I'd chosen might ruin it. But I love them, so I hope the quilting, too, will enhance the design.
Why didn't I start quilting years ago? This is so much fun! |
that is wonderful-so bright and happy

Terrific quilt and will look awesome when quilted. I took the same class online with Angela and enjoyed both of her classes. Please post after quilting I would love to see it quilted!

It is cool. The colors are wonderful and the design balanced. I have taken some of the craftsy classes and I am so happy with them. Angela Walters is easy to listen to and so knowledgable. I have two of her books.
