I call this He Came to Save and I plan on hanging it up all year around. I would like to embroider the title somewhere on the bottom, but I haven't decided yet.

really pretty. I just finsihed a quilt with turtles that were paper pieced and it took me a while to get my head around it. There were eight turtles, the first took forever but the eigth went like a breeze. I think I probably should have started out with fewer and maybe larger pieces. But I'm poud I got it done.Did you make your own design?

Lois-nounoe 02-05-2008 04:14 PM

Hey JCL! Isn't it a shame you can't make the last one FIRST????
I haven't tried paper piecing yet either. I see so many neat blocks using it but I tend to start with the most difficult things first. I'm thinking about doing the Wedding Ring thingy. Don't look TOO hard and I can use up some scraps for a scrappy look. :D

JCL in FL 02-05-2008 08:25 PM

Lois. I'm thinking about the weding ring too, let me know how yours turns out. I'm starting a puss in the corner. Cut it out tonight. I'll start sewing tomorrow.

Queen, your wall hanging is lovely! It definitely deserves to be hung up all year. :) Great job!

annmarie 02-05-2008 09:26 PM

JCL - I would LOVE TO SEE a picture of that paperpieced turtle quilt.

live2teach 02-06-2008 04:31 AM

That is lovely! You did a wonderful job with paper piecing- it is very pretty. I'd hang it all year too.

JCL in FL 02-06-2008 12:34 PM

Ann Marie!I tried to post it but I guess I can't since it's from a bought pattern. If you email me at [email protected]'ll send them to you. Put your request in the subject, I only open mail from people I know.

snowb 02-06-2008 07:13 PM

Queen - What a great job on your first paper-pieced project. It is beautiful

 Are you going to be doing some more paper piecing :?: I love doing it. It's like putting a puzzle together.

annmarie 02-06-2008 07:36 PM

JCL - it's OK to post pics of quilts made from store bought patterns here. We just usually cite the designer. Or did you mean you had trouble getting the pic to post?
