My first baby quilt - blue bear blue bear what do you see?

It's my very first baby quilt, still learning, I tried to stitch in the ditch, but the stitches somehow just don't like to fall in the ditch, oh well, I just need more practice.
This is meant for my friend's new born baby boy Leo. I fussy cut the little bears, used high loft batting, and a "I love daddy I love mommy" flannel at the back. Thanks for looking! |
That is so darling. I love the fussy cutting and the backing

That is so precious. I love the flannel on the back, always so warm. Great job.

I would say that's about as good as you need to be. Keep it going.

Very cute baby quilt.Your stitch-in- the-ditch looks fine to me and I'm sure baby (and Mom) will love it.

Hi and welcome to the board from Iowa. This is an adorable quilt and a precious gift for that little one. You did a wonderful job. Thank you for sharing.

it looks really great. SITD can be hard to keep IN the ditch. Try using a decorative stitch if your machine has them. Even a utility stitch can be very pretty. On the last quilt that I did, I used a fagoting stitch. if I got off the ditch line you couldn't tell and it was actually kinda pretty. even a simple zigzag can be interesting on a seamline. my favorite is a serpentine stitch. it makes the quilt look poofy even when it's not. try some of the stitches on your machine. You might be really amazed at how good it looks!

Perfectly done! Your blocks are SO neatly sewn, and your fabrics and colors look pretty together.
