My guild had their quilt show this weekend. I entered four quilts in the show and won three ribbons - my first blue ribbon(s). Now it is time to put away the baby quilt until her arrival. Of course, I have no idea when that will be, I just wanted to be ready.

You do gorgeous work and so creatively. I love "Laura's" quilt. It does tell her story even to strangers. I would be interested in knowing the significants of the the pins, "ship, etc. What a wonderful keepsake and no doubt heirloom of tomorrow. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

Hi! Laura's quilt was made when she was receiving treatments for hodgkins lymphoma, which is why I included the purple awareness ribbon. I brought pieces with me to sew at the hospital to pass the time. Her silhouette is in the middle and a piece of her prom gown in the corner. She loved tennis and played in school which is why I included the tennis court and racket. The SV is for her high school - Sun valley, while SHIP is for Shippensburg University. The buttons are her favorite band buttons - her music square. Thank you for your wonderful comments. She is my hero!

Schwanton: Thank you for the explanation. After I sent it I wondered if I was asking questions that were too personal or that could be sad for you. I'm glad they weren't and I love how you incorporated her life in one small wallhanging. It's absolutely wonderful.
