My friend's birthday is tomorrow and I was going to just go to Bath & Body and buy her some smell good lotions and soaps. Then I decided that I would make her a purse, since she loves them. I went to Wal-Mart bought the iron on fleece (I didn't have a pattern so I bought the wrong weight) and found some cute fabric. On the way home I called my LQS and they had the pattern so I stopped by and picked that up. Then spent this afternoon and evening making it. I think it turned out cute. I still need to sew on the button and stitch the lining closed then I am done!

Nice colors, and good job on the bag.

Thanks. Her favorite color is orange there is a little bit of that color not a ton. I hope she likes pink as well :-). I would have made her an orange bag but I am making her a quilt for a wedding gift so I have decimated my orange fabric stash and they didn't have much of a selection at Wal-Mart... She'll probably love it because I made it for her right?

Yep, you got that right. I find it doesn't matter what I make for someone, it is that I made something for them. I don't buy gifts for anything. I make everything and have since I was a child. Now everyone "Expects" a handmade gift. Even the grandsons. I think a gift from the heart is the best kind.

I bought my pattern at my LQS, I also saw it yesterday at Craft Warehouse. I know you can also purchase it online just do a google search for Bow Tuck Bag.

Mom of seven 10-16-2010 08:35 AM

Hi Kristen Thanks for answering my question so quickly. I thought someone here had designed these bags, so never thought of looking it up in a pattern book.
I see you too live in Salem, I actually live in Keizer. Nice to know you are so close.
