I LOVE purple, but in this case I think it creates too much contrast, compared to your beautiful tree fabric. I think a lighter blue, or even a light to medium gray, might work better. IMHO

I LOVE purple but I think a different shade or pattern w/purple might work better. If you have some just give it a try and see. Make 1-2 blocks so that you have something to copare with this block. Be sure to let us know which direction you go in. In the end TRUST your instints, if there is something off to you try something else.
