I really just collect fabric and I guess I think it is supposed to be around and automatically turn into quilts. However, our quilt guild is doing a quilt for a quilt show and I had been given part of the fabric and add to it from my stash for a D9P. I sewed the blocks together and the center square wasn't 4", so I had to unsew and redo. I had a brand new quarter inch foot that I had used, but my dear friend, who is an excellent quilter, told me how to set my machine to make it a quarter inch seam. I just wanted to show a picture that I really did do a D9P! Yipee

Thanks, dear friend! It's only taken 2 weeks! Well, really not that long because of keeping grandchildren and being worn out and stressed out........but I am proud of it. I'm gonna get there!!!!!

Yeah, some days I hope my fabric will just get together and merge itself into a lovely quilt, or at leastmagically reorganize my impulse purchases into cohesive color groupings ;-)

Love your blocks!

Nice

Very nice. I just found out yesterday what a D9P was and love it. Then I bought 24 9 patch blocks on Esty and will practice with them. Excited about it, hope it turns out as good as yours did.

great job. Don't you just love doing a D9P. I'm in the middle of doing one. I am going to be quilting each block seperately then attaching together with strips. At least I am going to try.

TacoMama 08-08-2011 04:28 AM

To tell you the truth, after I got the 9 patch made, I was really not wanting to cut it in two! Thanks for all the great comments!
