Well, I had been thinking about doing some of my own hand dyed fabrics and I had the supplies for quite a while.

I was a little scared to try it but this past weekend I dove right in and these pics show the results.

I used a fuschia Procion MX dye and I was trying to get a more distinct gradiation of the fat quarters. It didn't happen quite the way I had planned, but all in all, I think I like how they turned out.

What do you think?

I love it. Now, make another one, mixing that same pink with some blue and send it my way...Just kidding!! It turned out real cute.

Isn't it fun?! Your fabric looks wonderful. Keep at it. You'll develop your own technique for getting the color gradations you want.

Yes, I was like a kid, waiting until I could rinse them out and see how they turned out!

Looks good, Dharma Trading has some good information on hand dyeing on the web. I always go there for a refresher course before I dye.

Looks fantastic...and seems you had fun too (which is the main thing). Guess you wont be buying anyone elses designs when you can create your own...Well done.

I actually had thought that maybe I might be able to get some of these done to sell, but now after looking at Ebay, I'm not so sure.

I am collecting unemployment right now and only have a part-time job at Joann Fabrics and was looking to maybe getting some extra money coming in.

Looks good to me-I don't think anyone would know that it's your first try
