Barb, being a kind hearted person, I'm sure you leave those mistakes in so that when other quilters see them, they can feel so much better about their own work and the mistakes they have made. That's my personal theory on housework, too. If my house is messy, then my company will feel better about their houses not being perfectly clean and neat. I intend to apply that theory to my quilting also, and offer it freely to any of you out there with the same kind hearts that Barb and I have. Hugs and Smilessss......

I think it is beautiful, subtle is perfectly acceptable, not all quilts have to scream at you! Using a little retraint can be a good thing sometimes, I like your colour combination.

I've never made one of these that you set the block side by side. When have looked at them set that way, the background always make a secondary pattern that I didn't understand and thought was...well ugly.
Wildyard, the way you have quilted your quilt I finally see the pinwheel. No that I can appreciate that secondary pattern, I see this setting in a whole differ light. Thank for quilting it this way. Sometimes I think I have tunnel vision

i like the sublety. it gives the blocks a real 30's feel. i don't know if that's what the fabric originally looked like, but that's the feeling i'm getting now.

I'm happy that my simply quilting was helpful. I still have to finish it, but now I'll enjoy it more. Knowing that I might be helping someone else see the "light" will encourage me to get it done. Smiles and ty for the kind words everyone.

Ohhhhhh my... just when I thought this thread was about done. What other shapes do kaleidoscopes come in? I did see the dresden plate one, but I thought that was a special adaptation in that one book.
