I had never made a log cabin pattern before so I just pulled some scraps and got to work :)

It was more work than I originally expected, but I am glad that I gave it a whirl

Check that off your list as successful! This is beautiful!

Jingle 03-18-2018 06:58 PM

Beautiful, they are time and work intensive. I have made several and given them all away. I need to make me one.

Looks so comfy, way to go!!!

Funny thing about a log cabin block I have to say I was scared to death of it. I actually think it's not an easy one especially for me when I made mine I had the worst time because I couldn't get a straight 1/4 inch seam to save my life! Now things are a lot easier.

Great! One of my first was a QIAD log cabin...none since...but have watched Eleanor Burns new videos on YouTube and am tempted to try another...maybe

Very nice quilt. I do enjoy sewing strips and there are so many possible settings for the blocks.

Log cabins are beautiful and so many ways to lay them out. For a great tutorial checkout Jordan Fabrics. She has easy instructions.

I think I will :)

And thanks everyone for your kind words

I used the creative grids template and I am glad that I did. That really helped keep me in line when my seams were not in line :)

How fun to try new, "old" blocks. Your quilt came out so nice. Love the log cabin, my first ever quilt was done in logs cabins.

That's so pretty!!!!!!! I love Log Cabins- I think it's the only pattern I've made more than once.

Very pretty! I like the red binding. I have not tried a log cabin block.

Nice log cabin quilt.

Taughtby Grandma 03-21-2018 06:35 AM

Nice job. I like the way you can change the quilt just by moving the log cabin blocks blocks around.

javin22 03-21-2018 07:13 AM
