WOW, that is one gorgeous quilt. When I first started quilting, I took on some intermediate plus patterns when I was a real beginner, but there was no one to tell me I couldn't do it, so I just did it. You go girl, you're off to a fantastic start as a quilter.

Everything well said. After all my years of quilting, I can't make myself start a star quilt but is on my bucket list. Kudos to you for the challenge and it will be well received. Thanks for sharing.

OMG...I have quilting for over 30 years and I still would not attempt that block. It is turning out wonderful. I admire your courage.

Erin, you are doing a FABULOUS job!!! You are so darned talented in every thing you do. Can't wait to see this work in progress. Glad you like the Altos, I never got adventurous enough to use it much. "J" will love it. Keep up the gorgeous work! Just showed your Mom your post.

@DogHouseMom: I'm actually not using the paper piecing pattern, there are directions for regular piecing (is that what it's called?) or paper piecing. The paper piecing seemed more complicated. Maybe I should have done it that way if the y-seams are easier. Next time...
