Well I have sure learned a lot doing this quilt .
Have learned how to run a sewing machine and to keep my cutting straight. I,t was a lot of cutting as i was cutting with scissors. So I have got a roller cutter now and have learned the importance of ironing and ironing the seams the right way. my next try is going to be these chains . I tryed to do triangle but not at that level of skill yet they where all over the place. But i,m having fun and thats the main thing Have a good day every one. You are off to a great start!! Your first quilt is very pretty. Love the backing fabric.
Your blocks look very well done. Yes, we all learn from our mistakes or as I continue to call them " learning opportunities". Lol don't be afraid to try something challenging just don't be in a rush when doing something new. Keep up the good work! |
Congratulation!! You did a very simple pattern with your first one. Just remember, Tom, a sewing machine REALLY IS a POWER TOOL !!

Those chains look like fun. Looking forward to seeing the final quilt.

Very nice. You're doing great.

You are right on track! Keep on having fun!

Very nice! I've only been quilting since Oct. 2014 so I get where you are coming from. If you like learning, there is always something "new" to learn in quilting ... or at least for me. But I'm having a great time and wish I had started quilting years ago.
