The quilt really is straight, honest! :)

That's really neat! Was it difficult to sew with denim? Your quilt has a cool modern vibe to it. It's hard to believe it's your first.

Moonglow 02-12-2012 10:53 PM

Great use of denim. Nice work.

luvTooQuilt 02-12-2012 11:12 PM

Looks great. What did you back it with?? did you use batting?? What kind?

seam-ripper-sue 02-13-2012 12:45 AM

Really pretty quilt, especially for your first. You did a terrific job with the jeans. I always have trouble with jeans wanting to stretch.

I didn't use batting and I backed it with plush fleece.

A very nice utility quilt that will get lots of use! And it's made with recycled fabric! What did you use as the backing?

BluegrassGurl 02-13-2012 07:16 AM

Very pretty, looks like you have it figured out, just keep going.

Love your use of denim. I like how you used the seams in the fabric to enhance your design. I made a denim quilt for my oldest grandson 17 yrs. ago and now his son is using it - it is a bit ragged, but still useable and loved.

oma66 02-13-2012 07:48 AM

I like your use of the seams of the denim in your design and the use of all the hues of denim. Great job.

Mariposa 02-13-2012 07:49 AM

Wow - very impressive!

DebbyT 02-13-2012 08:26 AM

Nice Job! I have been saving jeans for years to make a quilt and until now, figured I would be cutting from seam to seam. I like the look of the seams in the blocks.

mighty 02-13-2012 08:26 AM

Welcome to the quilter's corner, and it's addictive. I've got a jean quilt on the back burner. Fantastic job.

morforles 02-15-2012 06:32 PM

If that is your first quilt you have some fantastic quilts in your future! That is super.....it reminds me of the Gee's Bend quilts, which are wonderful! Have fun and show us more.
