Beautiful quilt and quilting and wonderful work on first or any number of quilt. You are ready to keep making quilts. You are a natural. Good reason for you to be proud.

Beautiful quilt and congratulations. According to what I read about Alex Anderson she got "the quilting bug" doing her university project. Your soft colors and backing are quite lovely. You should be proud.
|
Looks fantastic for a first quilt! I never would have guessed. Great job on the quilting.

A beautiful quilt, thanks for sharing

Absolutely incredible that this is your FIRST quilt - I can't wait to see what your 5th or 10th looks like...you are a natural born quilter! Great job!
|
You did a fabulous job on this quilt. I think you are a true quilter because the color, the fabric, the pattern all come together so well. I think you should just continue on with your quilting because you are a natural at this. Thanks for showing.
|
Love your quilt and your comments. Especially with thanks to coke and netflix (it goes without saying we thank our mothers...)
I quilt in front of the TV all the time and miss half the movie but would not do it any other way. Love the old, comfy look of the fabrics and colors, even if they do brighten up in better (?) pix. Good Job! |
First quilt??? You are a natural!!!!!! Beautiful work!!!!
|
This is a great quilt! I'll bet you will enjoy making many more!
|
Your hard work really payed off. The quilt is so beautiful, your use of colors and being brave enough to use a pattern with points shows just how talented you are. Keep up the wonderful work, looking forward to seeing a lot of beautiful quilts from you.

Stand proud young lady, you have created a beautiful quilt.

No wonder you are pleased! That is an excellent quilt and an astonishing first quilt.
Netflix and diet Coke are two of my favorite quilting tools, too. :) |
What an amazing job you did!! I love it!! You are a Quilter!!

Oh, I am sitting here with the biggest smile on my face thanks to everyone's kind words! :o I can't wait to make another...just as soon as I get done with finals and graduation. I have a few ideas of what I'd like to try next; I've been scouring the boards looking for ideas. I tend to lean mostly toward traditional patterns. Part of me really wants to try applique. (maybe a small project to try it out!) Also, my dad is really itching for me to make him one now! So maybe he will get first priority ;)
Thank you so much again for all the amazingly kind words! I will be sure to pay it forward and get more involved here on the boards. |
very nice stars........

Gorgeous quilt; hard to believe this is your very first. You did a fabulous job and managed to retain your sense of humor!
|
Your quilt is so pretty! Thank you for letting us see it!
|
You did a great job on your quilt, you should be proud. We always are own worst critics. Love the colors.
|
Just gorgeous! You are on your way to greatness! Keep it up, enjoy the process, and don't forget to share with us.
|
I am totally impressed and you absolutely should be as proud of this as you are! My first quilt was a hot mess but I still love that silly little thing. :) This is stunning. Beautifully pieced and the quilting is just right for it. Not so dense that it takes away from the beauty of the fabrics or the piecing. You're in for many years of awesome quiltmaking!! Can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Well, I did it! I finished my first quilt. I did it as part of my senior project/exhibit and managed to finish it in just about 3 months exactly. Not sure if that's fast or slow but I sure worked my butt off! I used the "Antique Civil War Star" from this link: http://www.fonsandporter.com/content...lt-pattern.pdf
