I've been sewing all my life, but recently have decided to take up quilting (I guess I figure I don't have enough unfinished garment and knitting projects laying around my house... ).

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and share some pictures of my first quilt. It is a Quilts for Kids quilt and it is ready to send back. I thought it was a good way to practice and pay it forward a little bit. I'm going to do one more Q4K quilt and then work on some projects for me! Can you tell, I'm obsessed already? :oops:

Welcome from MS. You sound a lot like me. I feel guilty about my unfinished knitting projects!! They are out of sight in a cedar chest, but I feel a twinge when I pass by. Someday I will get it all done! Right now quilts are the most fun.

I just finished my Quilts for Kids and mailed them out yesterday. I did 4 this time - 2 of my own & 2 they provided. One they sent me was the same fabric as yours! It was my first time FMQ & your stitching looks so much better than mine. GREAT JOB!

I know! That's what I'm afraid of! At least for right now, I'm really motivated on the quilts though. They are so much fun!

I'm afraid I can't take credit for the green border. The fabric all came in the kit from Quilts for Kids. I'm making a NICU sized quilt to send back with this one with my own fabrics - so the jury is still out on my color choices! We'll see how that one turns out. I sandwiched it tonight and will quilt it tomorrow... Thanks again everyone for the nice comments. You all are making me smile!
