When my mom died at 87 (the only quilter in the family) I decided that someone needed to keep her legacy going. I guess it will be me. She always made her own clothing so I took all of her dresses, with aprons to match, and cut them up to make some very simple throws for my 2 sisters, my 2 daughters, and myself. I tied the first few then tried stitch in the ditch on others. We will always have a special reminder of her. Now I'm addicted and even dream about quilts!!!!!

The 'Love Quilts' are beautiful. Sure your mother would be happy to know you have taken up sewing and quilting.
|
I can relate. My mother made all her own clothes and was an alternation lady her whole life. I am the one who will carry on with sewing. I saved some of her hand made clothes and cut a piece out to use when I make quilts for the 4 grandkids. Mom lives on...........I miss her so much.
