Well, I can't believe I'll ever get all of the lint off but here it is before washing and after one cycle through the w/d.

And after the laundry room experience:

That is adorable. Did you use 3 layers of flannel or 2 of flannel and a piece of batting in the middle?

ToucanSam 02-19-2010 06:12 PM

Thanks! 3 layers of flannel. This thing may never be lint-free! :)

dkabasketlady 02-19-2010 06:17 PM

It's sew cute! I love to make rag quilts.

thimblebug6000 02-19-2010 06:41 PM

It's cute & no..... I don't think rag quilts ever quit shedding threads (at least not in my experience)

Lint - collect it up and make fire starters! Good stuff.

That's one cute quilt.

daisyboo9 02-19-2010 08:14 PM

It turned out great! love the colours

zz-pd 02-19-2010 08:16 PM

That is so cute! Is the lint hard on the machines? I want to do one of those for my middle sons birthday in Oct. Just a lap size one, well a big lap one, He's 6.4

Cute fabric and nice colors  As for the lint :( it does finally slow down. The birds love the lint to build nests.

sharon b 02-19-2010 09:16 PM

Love it  How many more to go ?

blahel 02-19-2010 10:38 PM

When you first showed us that delightful monkey fabric I just knew it would be great. Love it!

Very nice!

Looks very good! I love rag quilts and would love to have one but don't have the nerve to make one.

It really turned out great!! What a cute Quilt Sam!!

MillieH 02-20-2010 09:38 AM

In another thread, a poster recommended washing and drying the quilt at a commercial laundramat first. All that tiny string lint is rough on the w/d.

belmer 02-20-2010 10:10 AM

Just adorable, wonderful job you did.

amma 02-20-2010 12:25 PM

I love the monkeys!!! You did a great job on it :D:D:D

Catherine Marie 02-20-2010 02:59 PM

I like the idea of taking the quilt to a laundry mat ( are they still called that?) for that first wash and dry.

Bevanger 02-21-2010 06:33 AM

i love it.

Ditter43 02-21-2010 07:57 AM

That is really sweet! I love the feel of flannel but don't like to work with it ....I sneeze and my nose runs constantly . I recently made two flannel quilts for my ggs's. I haven't quilted them yet. I am hoping I won't have a problem with that part of it!!

Good job on your quilt!

I am wanting to try a rag quilt; looking at yours gives me inspiration.

mpspeedy 02-21-2010 10:10 AM

That is really cute. The only way you could not have lint is if you cut all of the blockson the bias. That would probably be worse than the shedding. Good job!
