my first scalloped edge quilt--maybe my last!

Hope these pictures post ok. the quilt was an impulse fabric buy--loved the black paisley. Wanted to have a simple block for a retreat and decided I'd use a wide scalloped border with the paisley. It was my first, and maybe last, scalloped edge! Yikes--it took a lot of thinking and manipulating to get it bound! A week from today it will go in a silent auction raising funds for my DD's best friend's family--their 2 1/2yr baby has suffered massive seizures that have resulted in brain damage--hopefully not permanent. The quilting is lovely, and the scallops really set off the quilt. Good job!

I love everything about it!! Really pretty!

Wow, wow! What a pretty quilt. The quilting is so pretty and appreciate that beautiful fabric.

thanks all! I told my DH that has to lay out a fairly high opening bid in the auction cause we both know how many hours of ruler work is in the quilting--not to mention that binding! LOL!

OMG, that is gorgeous!!! You did an amazing job. The best of luck on the auction.

I hope there is a bidder wise enough to realize the quilt is not just stunning, but unique! Not many would combine such a striking more modern fabric with such a traditional border and edge finish, a bold and very successful design choice. Hope it brings a financial blessing to the family, but you making it to help them is the real blessing and I'm sure that is a great comfort to them.
