This is my first scrap quilt. It is made out of mostly orphan blocks. The back is made out of cloth napkins that I bought at a yard sale for 25 cents. They stretched a little after washing. I also got the batting at the thrift store for two dollars. I really like it. The quilting is horrible, but I still like the quilt.

Nice idea with the napkins!

Nice,I love the quilt, I like to see more recycling or what ever they are calling it these days lol. With todays economy these types of quilts gives confidence to those who can not afford fancy fabrics and lets them know old fashioned is still beautiful!!!

What a fun quilt!! I like the idea of using orphan blocks and making a scrap quilt. I have a few blocks flying around without a home.

I don't think your quilting is horrible! It looks soft and scrunchy, a perfect scrappy quilt.

Love it....and I don't think the quilting is horrible either. Just think...there will never be a quilt like it...it's a total one-off, gorgeous original with planet saving properties!

nice job. Sometimes we need to think outside thebox and make use of things we have or can get for next to nothing

BETTY62 03-09-2011 01:51 AM

Your quilt is beautiful.

This is a real "green" quilt! You used what you had or got super cheep. Yep, thats the way to do it.

kateyb 03-09-2011 04:52 AM

Traditionally quilters used what they had available. You have done exactly that. Nice quilts and a job well done.

Great idea with using the napkins. The quilting looks good to me!

Motorcyclemad 03-09-2011 02:04 PM

Who cares about the quilting? Does it do what it is supposed to?

Mariposa 03-09-2011 02:07 PM

Great scrappy! Nicely done!

I like the way you put your orphans together. And the napkins on the back is a super idea. Way to go!

Nice quilt! Great use of your orphan blocks. (Love that dog.) What a good idea to use the napkins as part of the backing. I have some tucked away that I never use. Good job. Your inspector is cute too.
