jdavis 10-04-2010 12:40 PM

I think your instructor spoke too soon! And I'm kind of tired of stack 'n whacks!

msariano 10-04-2010 12:41 PM

I think it turned out great. This is really a fun pattern.

grandme26 10-04-2010 12:52 PM

I think your instructer was wrong. It is beautiful.

sheila bee 10-04-2010 01:41 PM

Sometimes u know best !!! love it ~

wraez 10-04-2010 03:52 PM

Definitely turned out just great, no matter what your instructor said...they aren't always right.

Reminds me I took a class maybe 5 years ago, brought it home, tucked it away and haven't worked on it since ... oh my. Should do it.

thanks for sharing

warm quilt hugs, sue in CA

Looks great to me! You did a wonderful job!

madamekelly 10-04-2010 04:02 PM

Even experts are wrong sometimes, that's what makes our hobby fun. No body is right, and everybody is right!

kacy 49 10-04-2010 04:10 PM

I think it turned our great. I love the colors and they are very in right now.

Annz 10-04-2010 04:25 PM

Ramona Byrd 10-04-2010 05:30 PM

It did SOO work, and it worked nicely. Just because someone is a teacher doesn't mean she knows everything!! Go with her knowledge and then go with your own wishes. The combination
is priceless.

This is so pretty..I wish I could do one just like this.
Love the color and pattern.

rahaube 10-04-2010 06:35 PM

I love your choice of colors and I think it is a lovely quilt. It may not be a cookie cutter stack and whack but that is part of the charm of it.

hcarpanini 10-04-2010 06:36 PM

Nice job!

franie 10-04-2010 06:36 PM

Wonderfull work, congratulations.

Now I have a strange question for anyone.
Can someone please tell me what a Stack & Wack
quilt is, and where did the term come from.?
In case you are wondering, yes I am a novice.
Cheers.

Chatfield 10-05-2010 05:27 AM

I think it turned out great - some of my favorite colors!!

Feathers 10-05-2010 07:03 AM

Your Stack'nWack is gorgeous. I love that block. I just got fabric to make another one. Yours is lovely and aren't you glad you decided to give the fabric a try even when the teacher said she didn't think it would work? Thanks for sharing.

I think the fabric worked very well. AND you did a fantastic job!

earthwalker 10-05-2010 09:08 PM

I think it worked a treat....I am yet to try this technique but am keen to get going. Sometimes you just have to do your own thing....some people's choices are a bit too "safe" even if they are a good instructor.

Hi and welcome Pippa....just look up the top of the page select search - type in Stack and Whack and you will see a whole list of Stack and Whack related threads, including tutorials.

Patched 10-06-2010 05:19 AM

Definitely more than okay, it is beautiful

LOL, Ain't that the way of it?

omak 10-22-2010 11:53 AM

SEE???
Instructors don't know everything!
Good for you!
To be fair, none of us alone can know everything, and we do tend to our preferences - - it is a human condition.
But, I think your quilt is just dandy, and the look is unique.
As I used to tell my children - - try it once, if you never do it again, you will know why (I did have the caviat that it must be logical, ethical, and moral, or the first time really isn't necessary <g>)
At any rate, I am glad that you followed your first choice in fabric and broadened the stack and whack horizons <wave>
