 This was fun & quick, but I let my 6 yr old DD pick the strings.
It's very bright! It's 7 1/2" square.

Ooooo I love it!!! :D :D :D
For those of us who are "scrappy challenged" and insist on trying to match colors...what a great idea!!! I will have to let my grands pick the fabrics out of the container!!!

SulaBug 09-14-2009 11:03 AM

It's so cute!! :D I just love it.
Are you making a quilt with it?
Thank you for sharing with us.

It looks fun. Are you gonna make it for your DD? I bet she is having a blast helping. Keep us updated on the quilt. Would love to see it. Just send it with a warning to put on our sunglasses! LOL

Harmony 09-14-2009 11:59 AM

Bright is GOOD! This will make up into an awesome quilt! Can't wait to see it when you're done!

bearisgray 09-14-2009 12:10 PM

Your daughter seems to have a good color sense. I think you should let her pick out all of them.

Pea Soup 09-14-2009 12:19 PM

You are right, it's bright but it's also so cheery. What a block with which to start! You must be so pleased.

Your DD has fun taste! I let my DD pick her princess quilt fab, too! LOL! Funny what they come up with.

Yes, I've been saving a small bucket of strings, so today I told her that we would make a couple of blocks a week, then quilt them for her. :-)

Well, you can call it a fun taste, but her saying is:
"The brighter, the better!"
Her daddy calls it tacky! 8)

This is awesome. I think she did a fantastic job of picking out the strings. Tacky?? Shame on daddy!!!! (just kidding)

Bayou Quilter 09-15-2009 11:03 AM

I just found string quilts also.....made a large one no blocks, just strings then just completed a pink string quilt...used lt pink for all the centers & asst prints for the rest then set them on point & bordered it in a darker rose. I ended up with a square (lt pink) on point inside the rose square...I'll be posting it soon. Really came out nice.... :)

MsSage 09-15-2009 11:06 AM

Daddy was just joking with her. :D  :D

Evelynquilts 09-16-2009 12:22 PM

I just turned in a quilt to Linus using that pattern... the ladies loved it...it is so pretty once you sew all the blocks together...everyone you make will be different...great job... :D

Mousie 09-16-2009 03:41 PM

It is so fun to see what the kids come up with. I let my DGD pick fabric for a lap, she and I are doing together...whenever she is here, she just started school, and I miss her being here, like she was...anywhoo, she is very slender and feminine, and feminine fabrics is what she picked, but a little on the fun side as well
Your block has inspired, just the idea I have been waiting for. Thanks!

sewjoyce 09-16-2009 03:44 PM
