This was so fun to make, with lots of learning and lots of help from searching the quilt board. This is only my fourth quilt that I have quilted on my Juki. The t-shirts belonged to my brother who went to be with our Lord three years ago this month. My sister-in-law gave me the shirts to make a surprise quilt for my youngest nephew who will be leaving to France this month. Thank you again for all the helpful information that people give. God bless.

great job! do you have any words of advice that you can offer after doing this?

Sorry about your brother. I love the quilt though. Aren't T shirt quilts the funnest things to make?

Fusible interfacing applied to T's larger than the area to be cut before cutting. Keeps the sizes nice and uniform and keeps the Ts from stretching.

This is just what I did and boy does it make a difference.

Thank you. It would have been easier if all the shirts were the same size. I just cut in multiples of 3 and hoped it would work. I used 3 because my biggest shirt design was 21 inches long.

You did a really nice job on the quilt! My sympathies on the loss of your brother, and it's a very thoughtful thing to do for your nephew!

Thank you for sharing photos of that awesome memorial quilt. I have been in the process these past 8 years of cutting t-shirts to make a memorial quilt with t-shirts that were my daughter's. They also vary in size. I like the fabric you used for sashing and backing. Most of my daughter's shirts were from concerts so something like that would work very nicely.
