Thank you everyone for your kind comments! I enjoyed making this quilt. I believe there are over 40 T shirts in this. Her mom saved them for me for years. There was no real planning in the colors she gave me. I used all parts, front, back, sides and sleeves. I think there are 80 "blocks". It was labor intensive in the planning aspect but very doable if you take your time and just be patient. I used "Too Cool T-Shirts", a book that walked me through the process.I read the book several times and practiced sewing on parts of the various t shirts. I used lots of graph paper, colored pencils and tape to plan as suggested in the book. It took me HOURS to place the shirts in a way that I liked. I followed the directions with one exception. I used fusible on each shirt (they are adamant in the book not to do this)--It was much easier for me to handle the fabric and since the shirts were all different fabrics, I found it made it more stable. (I practiced both ways).The long arm quilter agreed. I bound it myself. The book was well worth the purchase. I needed 10 different sized plexiglass templates (which my husband made for me) to frame the logos and cut the shirts. All blocks are multiples of 4 so that they would be able to fit like a puzzle.
