I thought it turned out pretty good and it was super fun to make. I'm glad I decided to overcome my fear that it would be to hard for me to do.

Looks good. Not an especially easy pattern for a first. Thumbs up

bearland53 05-20-2014 03:35 PM

I like it - I've been toying with attempting one - I will have to give it some serious thought

sewnsewer2 05-20-2014 03:50 PM

Great job!

spartan quilter 05-20-2014 04:10 PM

I give special kudos to anyone who does something for the first time. It is a beautiful tote, and you can be very proud of it. I keep saying that I will do one, but just haven't quite gotten enough courage yet.

helou 05-20-2014 04:30 PM

very nice. a good thing that you decided to try. See, you could do it and it is very well done. If we don't try we do not know that we can succeed Bravo!

Jeanne S 05-20-2014 04:38 PM

Very cute!!

quiltingnd 05-20-2014 05:14 PM

Thank you! I've wanted to do one for a long time but was sure I couldn't do it. I had some extra charms and decided today was the day to just "go for it". It was way easier to make than my mind had blown it up to be. I'm already planning my second and third with a few alterations.

Dee G 05-20-2014 05:38 PM

It is lovely. Great job!

retired2pa 05-20-2014 05:47 PM

IrishgalfromNJ 05-21-2014 06:39 AM

So glad you took the plunge and made a bag. It's super cute and the next one will be twice as easy.

RedGarnet222 05-21-2014 07:48 AM

I see many more in your future. Lol, this is really a great job for your first try at it. Very nice work indeed!

Doggramma 05-21-2014 09:24 AM

That's so cute. Great job! My daughter and I made a tote. It was supposed to be for a beginner. She's a beginner, but I am definitely not a beginner and it didn't turn out right. I think the instructions were confusing. So...good for you! (We did fix her tote last time she visited though)

Painiacs 05-21-2014 10:12 AM

What a great job! Would love one! You did a great job! Too many other projects to do before a tote! Show us the others when done!?

I used the Missouri star quit co video. Its actually easy after you get the first one done. I made a second last night.

This one was shorter by an inch on the bottom but was longer by one extra charm. The fabric for the handles was left over binding fabric. I think I like the original size better. Or maybe I would have liked this one better if my bottom piece had been the original 7" size and not 6", but it was a scrap piece that was already cut to 6".

grammasharon 05-22-2014 04:51 AM

I too would like to make a tote but feel like it is too difficult for me! Somehow I can't get my brain around it. Am going to bite the bullet and do one of Jenny's on MSQ. Thanks for sharing.

solstice3 05-22-2014 05:00 AM

lovely tote!

JuneBillie 05-22-2014 06:51 AM

Your bag is so so nice. I love making bags. I guess I like having one I made, and no one has one just like it.

fangman 05-22-2014 07:33 AM

It's so pretty and good for you.

scisyb220 05-22-2014 09:51 AM

Great work! And now, don't you feel proud? And happy!? Glad to hear you have plans to make a couple more. You'll find the next ones go together more quickly and easily since you know the steps & have made some mental adjustments to speed things along. Very cute fabric choices, too! Congrats!!

Mariposa 05-22-2014 10:11 AM

Congrats on a job well done! :)

sawsan 05-22-2014 10:34 AM

As a bag designer and teacher of such---You did an awesome job. I see many more in your future.
I love making bags since it can take as little as an afternoon or as long as a day. I make one when I feel stumped or funky-you know-I just do not know what to do next?? I will make a BAG! I have so many now, I can give them away at our yard sale in June. I just love making them so I do.

Grandma Peg 05-22-2014 04:10 PM
