I have been envying all the wonderful treadle machines seen on this site and finally found one in good condition at a reasonable price that has all the parts and is in good working order the decals are slightly worn but some future time I will have them replaced. I help out at several pioneer days festivals and history outings and this will be fun to demonstrate with.
I will have to find out the age. Moosegirl

What a beauty. I want one, just can't seem to find one for the right price.

Great machine. the cabinet is beautiful!

virtualbernie 07-25-2011 05:59 AM

How beautiful! I have one just like it but yours is in better shape than mine. You done good!

Great find, and I love your plans for demos!

The only Singer replacement decals I've seen are for the Featherweights...but the worn decals just indicate that she's been used and loved...you'd have to find someone to paint the machine to "replace" them.

She is a beauty! :D:D:D

You've got a beauty there! Treadling is so much fun. Your decals aren't bad... and I don't know of any way to get them replaced. They are applied before the clear coat of the machine goes on and it would involve completely stripping the machine and repainting... if you could even find the same decals, which I doubt. So just live with them the way they are! They look pretty good for their age! :-D

You can look up the age on the Singer site, using the serial number on the machine.

Oh I'm green with envy. It looks like it's in beautiful shape and the cabinet too.

greenini 07-25-2011 09:49 AM

She's lovely, love her as she is! It's the wear that lets you know how much she was loved and used!

do you actually use the tredle machines or just for show. I have two of them and I do not use mine I have tried but just can't get it going.

go to singer's website and email them the model # and they'll respond the next day with the DOB, age, type and place of birth. they are so fast; I did it for four machines. You can call them also but I just did the email

Here's the link if you want to date your machine by the serial number:

I can't wait to get my grandmother's treadle out of storage.

Treadle machines make me smile as that is what my mom had when I learned to sew. Happy times!! Enjoy your treasure!!
