I had some leftover jelly Roll Strips and thought I would give the tube quilting a stab as my wonderful friend Tippy suggested.

I reversed to see how it would look.

I used 4 - 2.5 jelly roll strips.

Lisa, they came out beautiful. Isn't this technique fun and habit forming?
I made another set today from diff. fabrics.

I am gonna pull out some of my batiks tomorrow and make some strips. And do more blocks.. this is very addictive. I have been in a quilty funk as of late and this has really pulled me out of it.

Hi Lisa,

This is such a fun setting of the tube blocks. I like the soft green you have used with the pink.

I have been thinking about these blocks lately because I am in a ornament swap in december. I am thinking these would make some cute ornaments done in the right colors and used individually. I can see a tree, a elf or santa face with a hat or a basket so far. They would just need some applied embelishments. What do you think?

Can someone point me to a tute or directions for these?
I seem to be late to this NEW technique.

There are soooo many pixs of tube blocks. Where can I learn how to do this?

Tippy 11-22-2009 03:41 PM

Sounds great to me RedGarnet.
They're really sooo versatile.
