My first two tops. I hope you like them - cc welcome

Hello board members. Well after 12 months of procrastinating two weeks ago I went into the room I have prepared for quilting and started making two quilts for two of my grandchildren.

Bonnie is 5 and I have chosen a Snuggle Pot theme. Hers is the green one.

Angus is 2 and he will have an Octopus quilt to cuddle up to. His is blue.

At this stage they are only tops - this is a great achievement for me. Guild meeting tomorrow and I'm hoping to get some advice on quilting them and applying their names and a fussy cut of each theme using appliqué.

I intend using cotton batting; stitch in the ditch and maybe (?) some free motion work.

CC definitely welcome. All the best

These quilts are beautiful the grand kids will love them. They are simple the colors are mellow and go well together . This is class and it is hard to find these days.

Love the fabrics and the quilts. I've been wondering where you were. When I joined the QB I enjoyed seeing your work. Glad to see you on here again and that you're still quilting.

malfromcessnock 09-10-2012 12:51 AM

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm so pleased you ladies approve of my initial efforts. It's hard to get the colour right - the green quilt looks a little different "in the flesh".

Any tips please on posting image files. One of them doesn't line up. I don't understand. Can you post words under each image?

All the best...

Teddybear Lady - I live on the east coast of Australia - about midway along that enormous distance, just 100 miles north of Sydney.

I'm working tonight on the "flower garden" quilt I was working on when I first joined. Not going to let it beat me.

Thank you for you kind words.

quiltsRfun 09-10-2012 09:05 AM

I like them very much. And I'm impressed with the points on your HST.

Dina 09-10-2012 09:06 AM

Mal, I love your quilts. I am also glad to see you post, as I was following some of your posts....can't remember when...a while back, and I was afraid you had given up when I didn't see any more. I guess I just missed them. At that time you were asking about the cost of quilting and the time it takes, I think. You also had a pattern and fabric you were going to use. Did I miss pictures of that quilt?

Dina
