this is what I am working on as I find myself coming to the end of my first year of quilting. I love christmas and this is from fabric that I have had stashed for years, and I mean many, many, many years . I have to admit the bug has bit me pretty hard!

Very pretty! I need to start on some decorations in between the gifts.

Oh dasiy,
This is really nice! Very very good job on it. I think I have some fabric like your old floral too, LOL! Although, I think I just bought some like it again. Everything old is new again. Do you believe it?

I have always loved large florals, with deep rich colours...I must have loved this one cause I have at least 6 and half yards of it!! I guess I know what backing I am going to use!

Very nice!! Puts me in the mood to start another Christmas one.

tlrnhi 08-30-2009 06:26 PM

Daisy, this is much prettier than what you described in chat!
I like the small red border around it, but not too keen on the other fabric.
But you did a wonderful job!

amma 08-30-2009 06:41 PM

Beautiful!!! It will look wonderful at Christmas :D :D :D

tuesy 08-30-2009 06:43 PM

Susy 08-30-2009 07:36 PM

Lovely!

MollieSue 08-30-2009 07:43 PM

Beautiful quilt!!! :D Can I ask what block it is?

daisyboo9 08-30-2009 09:17 PM

block A is a sawtooth star with pinwheel centre and block b is a simple pinwheel, both are set on point and the setting triangles are a christmas themed toille. My sister wrapped my christmas present in it last year. I only had a yard so I had to strategic in where I used it.

beautiful, that quilting bug has quite the bite. I just finished two lap quilts and said I am not going to do anymore for awhile. Already thinking what am I going to do next!

Thanks Daisyboo9!! I can't believe I didn't recognize that as I recently made a Dora the Explorer SawTooth for my granddaughter! lol!!!
I would never have thought of adding a pinwheel center to it!

And how neat of your sister to use fabric as wrapping paper!!
:D

I really like it and the color and design reminds me of peppermint! (like candy canes)

quiltease 08-31-2009 06:42 AM

I really like this quilt but wonder if you might pick a blue from your floral border/blocks instead of the "redwork". The reason I say this is that when you look at the center the blue pops out. Bringing it to the sides might balance it a bit better. Whatever you choose to do, the quilt will be gorgeous, have no fear!

love those fabrics. What a great way to use them. May you have many more years of quilting.

Sheila Elaine 09-04-2009 11:51 AM

The red & white toile is great. I've never bought any, but just might have to this year & it goes so well with the Christmas colored fabrics. Great job, keep up the good work.

Marilyn Philips 09-04-2009 12:20 PM

Beautiful. I love the way you incorporated non-christmas fabrics like the toile and floral patterns. Seems to give it that extra something.

SulaBug 09-04-2009 01:24 PM

I bet you are thrilled to get it done
