Bev, those are just absolutely adorable!! Are they going in the someday for my Gchild box???

DA Mayer 10-20-2009 05:44 AM

Bev you do such nice neat work, do you crosstitch also? How much floss do you use, do you have to buy a lot or do you have a stash just like fabric. My grandmothers embroidered and so did my husband's grandma Rose. I still have some day of the week towels she gave me 30+ years ago for a shower gift. I mostly use them to cover baked goods so they don't wear out.

Thank You... Yes, I also do Cross Stitch. My mom taught me to embroider I think I was 5 or 6? Then when I became disabled, A friends wife taught me to cross stitch. So I've been doing this for years. XS I use 2 strand, embroider I use 3. I stock up on floss when Joanns has them on sale 5 @ $1.

Did you do all of those by hand? They remind me of old fashioned feed sack towels. I just love your babies. :)

DA Mayer 10-20-2009 07:14 AM

It certainly shows that you are a pro. Do you have a section in your sewing room devoted to that?

ranger 10-20-2009 07:14 AM

They are cute. Good work, Bev.

Thank You.... My boys are both poms. Teddy (cream sable) is 2 and a toy pom @ 4 1/2 pounds. Chaos (red sable) is 9 and a standard pom. They are both my sewing helpers and my shadows. Everywhere I go. They are there. :D

Bev~~~~
Ever since I saw your Flower Baby pattern, I have searched the internet for hours!! Is there any way you can share this pattern or tell me how to get it? I too am a long time sticher of all sorts and also a dog lover!(4)
I am brand new to this site and love to look at all of the beautiful work everyone shows. I certainly admired your Flower Baby!! I also like to incorporate my embroidery into my quilts. If you can give me any info, would appreciate it.
Thanks~~~Calico Grammy (of 5!!!)

Bev, I have a million things to do today (none of them quilting related.. RATS!!!) but I had to log in and comment on your beautiful babies. They really do look like pansies, and your pattern reminds me of one my Nana used to have, similar features, but all the "flower" shapes were different. Yours are just lovely, evocative of gentle more innocent times. Thanks so much for posting. Happy stitching! PS: Can we please see the finished work?
