Thanks to all the advise I got last time when I asked about buying a featherweight. I kept bidding on eBay and lost two bids with a five dollar difference for $300+ on a machine but kept checking Craigslist everyday then found one that was listed for $295 but two hours away from me...well it was ten minutes from where my brother lives....do you see where I am going??.?lol yes I called my brother and called the guy who lowered the price to $250 and my dear brother picked it up for me and today he brought home to mommy....
I love it. It is so cute and I can't wait to finish my daughter,s quilt staring at me on the long arm so I can learn how to thread the machine and play with it... Thank you all for all the help I got. You are all great ;-) |
Congratulations! It looks like you got a fantastic deal too. Have you tried her out yet? They are fun to use.
Thanks....I tested it to see if it running and it sounded soooo smooth. I am already falling in love with her :D
I don't know how to thread it so will do that after I finish the last run of the quilt |
I bet you will figure out the threading, if not go to the singer site and bet you can find out there.
Beautiful machine and sounds like a great deal. |
That baby looks to be in great shape. Have fun, they are so nice to piece with.

Beautiful. I found one at my sewing store and he had gone over it and it was perfect. I wish I had a box of attachments though. My machine came with a nice case but no attachments. You did good.
congrats.they are wonderful machines
Fabulous deal!
Congratulations! What a cute baby! It looks like you got some nice accessories too. I think you got a great price on it.
She looks great! Wonderful shape. I highly recommend your getting the purple book on how to care for a featherweight. (off hand I can't remember who the author is) I use mine to do all my piecing and any straight work. It sews the straighest stitch that no newer machine seems to do. Now I only use my fancy Viking when I am doing decorative stitches, etc. Hope you love yours as much as I love mine.

Wow! What a gorgeous baby, superb condition even down to the storage box. Great deal! I keep looking for one, some day I hope to find one in such good shape. Congratulations on the newest addition to your family.
I LOVE your baby... you are going to have more fun with this one then the more expensive.. ones... I learned to sew on one just like it... :) now you need to make a little quilt to cover your baby in :) lol
And you got a nice box full of feet, too! So many of them have lost all of the accessories. Nice find!
What a cute Baby !I know you must be happy, and what is her name?
Just remember Featherweights thread through the needle goes from right to left! Just the opposite of most modern machines. I have 4 featherweights 2 - Black, Ebony and Licorice and 2 - White, Grasshopper and Angel all are great machines and I now have one for each of my granddaughters. I love to do much of my straight stitches on them and use my Viking for fancy work. Enjoy your new "Baby".
