We had to go into town toady to pick up stuff for the gates to go across the driveway.

Fed ex delivered my new set of pans. I gave my two other sets to the family from Texas who left most of their stuff behind. We looked and looked for a decent set. We went to Khol's, Sears, Penny's and Bed Bath & Beyond. Then we sneaked into Costco and found a set there for $200 + the membership fee.
I when we got home I searched the internet for that set and found it on Ebay for $135 + $25 shipping. They are heavy stainless steel pots and pans. And so shiney !!

The fabric is 2 yards of a really pretty blue batik with little fishy's. I paid 5 bucks for 2 yards.

It pays to shop around!

Teacup 06-28-2010 08:12 PM

Pretty fabric, nice pans! Looks like you got metal lids. I bought new pans last fall, had to hunt a long time to find a set of stainless with lids that were not glass. I had one pan with a glass lid and I found it fragile. I wanted something I could drop without breaking.

Ditter43 06-28-2010 08:13 PM

Oh boy, I need new pans too, but hate to even start trying to figure out what to buy! :?

It sure does. It took us three months to find the replacement to my husband's work truck. We shopped, compared and blue booked close to 30 trucks before decided on his blue Ford.
I did the same thing when I got Paco (my new machine).
I mean we do it for auto insurance, health insurance, mortgage rates, why not a set of pans?.........LOL

Yes they are metal lids. Now I get to make new potholders. My old pans had rubber handles.

Pans look like work but the fabric is wonderful.

Just kidding about the pans, they're beautiful.

Great deal all the way around :D:D:D

Nothing like a new set of shiny pansd, but now you have to cook! Funny story... when early in my marriage, my hubby was complaining to my mom that I never tried anything new , he wished I could cook like her. She told him," get her some decent pans and she can". Got really decent pans about 25 years later, it didnt improve my skills at all>LOL

SuziC 06-29-2010 03:44 AM

Boy, you had a good day!!!

brushandthimble 06-29-2010 03:51 AM

rewards of the hunt and chase.

mygirl66 06-29-2010 04:03 AM

I love days like that! Really nice pans, and I love your fish!

aorlflood 06-29-2010 05:29 AM

Pans???? What do you use those for??? LOL

Who has time to cook when we have so many quilting projects to do????????? LOL

azgal 06-29-2010 06:15 AM

Don't you just love E-bay!

Pam 06-29-2010 07:30 AM

LOVE the pans and the fish! I am a gourmet cook (in my own mind) and love the heavy pans I bought about 5 years ago, worth every penney of the $400 I spent.

Consider trying the padding tube looking stuff for bicycle handles for the pan handles. Watch out, those metal ones get hot!

I do pretty good in the kitchen. Funny story here too, I don't like cole slaw but I sure know how to make a good batch of it according to my husband.
My father first taught me how to cook. I started out with making bisquits. One time we didn't have any baking powder in the cabinet so I thought baking soda would do (I was 11 at the time). They came out as hard as hockey pucks. But, my Dad ate them anyways, he buried them under a bowl of white beans.......LOL

Pam 06-29-2010 09:43 AM

Awww... what a good Dad!

littlehud 06-30-2010 07:53 AM

Ohhhhh.......that fabric is yummy. I love the pots and pans. So pretty and shiny. And what a great job of shopping for them. You got a buy.

BellaBoo 06-30-2010 08:20 AM

I bought a 15 piece set of stainless steel cookware from Sam's Club in 1998 for $99. It is the best cookware I have ever used. It was a limited special buy at the time and not that many to sell. The box was plain no brand markings, just a picture of the cookware and it said copper core cookware. No open set to look at. My DD had just moved into her first apartment so I bought two sets. I'm so glad I did. On the bottom of the cookware it says All Clad! This same set is listed for over $2000 at stores now.

I love your pans.. They look very much like one I bought at Tuesday Morning some time back.. I have to say it is one of my absolute favorites!!!
Good for you!.. Tuesday Morning is one of my favorite shops.. I got a couple of pans that retail for $100 or over for $25 or less.. I don't usually buy sets.. but get specific pans for specific things I make.. and Tuesday Morning is an awesome source.. but I just keep an eye out for what I "need".

BellaBoo 06-30-2010 08:39 AM

Tuesday Morning fan here too! I find great buys there on quality brands. The store here carries Fons and Porter quilting tools and Olfa cutting mats when they are available.

Jingle 06-30-2010 05:22 PM

Very pretty, shiny pots and pans. Nice fabric.

dkabasketlady 07-07-2010 08:40 PM

Pans, who wants pans, then you have to cook, lol!!! Thank goodness my DH doesn't expect alot of that!!! Your goodwill find is awesome!!! Enjoy both of your great deals!!!
