When I make these I fill them with Kaytee walnut pet litter. It is important to buy the crushed walnut. It works wonderfully. One 7 lb. makes a lifetime of chickens. You can buy this at the pet store or maybe at Walmart. Ann |

They are just so cute. You could use ground walnut shells that they sell in the pet stores. I bought mine at a quilt show and used it in a strawberry pincushion

you could use poly batting/stuffing. but sand or crushed walnuts is much better. |
