I was inspired by this board when n2scraplvr posted some pics on house blocks. I have been wanting to make a house quilt and seeing her numerous blocks got me motivated. So here is what I ended up doing. The blocks are from a book called Stitch and Split Applique by Jayme Crow and Joan Segna. I put a different spin on the colouring. It is meant to be quirky and not perfect. I just need to add the boarders now but wanted to thank this board for inspiring people sharing so thought I better share in return. The photo colours aren't the best I'm afraid but best I could do for now. The ones that look orange are actually shocking pinks.

Thanks for the comments ladies. Helps keep me motivated to get to the next step of borders which I have yet to decide what to do.
|
Maria have you decided on borders yet? I'm wondering what quilting you will do on this. I did "Cabin in the Woods" and have yet to get the quilting figured out. That is the part that I always have difficulty in deciding. Just wondering how yours is coming along.

HI Sandyl, I would love to see a picture of your "Cabin in the woods". I got the borders on last weekend and will do more pics of that in coming days and post here but like you qulting has me wondering. I feel there is enough interest in the blocks to have subtle quilting and even "in the ditch" quilting which I haven't really done since I first started quilting but that is all that comes to mind right now.
