My inspiration to start quilting
1 Attachment(s)
Last December, I walked in to a few quilt shops, debating if I wanted to start quilting... and then I found these CHICKENS... Chickens with PANTS no less! And you all know the story after that!

Really nice, great work!!!!
|
That is certainly very cute, great work
|
I love the cute chickens.
|
nicely done
|
I have this same panel of Roosters and I made a wall hanging for my step-daughter for Christmas and finished it in October. Her whole kitchen is done in Roosters and red, white, and black. I can't do anything else or want to at this point because we just found out last week that my husband has brain cancer and I am just out of my mind trying to deal with it all. Please pray.

Love the fabric AND your quilt.
Isn't it fun to find inspiration, then follow thru?! |
Really cute. Like it.
|
Awww, I love the chickens with pants. So, so, so, so, so cute. Nice job.
|
What fun those are!
|
Your quilt is great! I love the fabric and what you did with it.
|
Love Chickens and these in pants...how absolutely awesome!
|
Thank you for posting this picture. The chickens are adorable, but it's how you set them that made that light bulb go off in my head! I have just a few novelty rectangles left over from another project and I can set them this way and make a great kid's quilt. Thank you SO much!! I hope mine turns out as good as yours ...

Cute chickens and very pretty quilt.
|
Thank you, ladies... It was my first quilt and still makes me giggle every time I see it. Hoping I'll finish the back and get it quilted soon though. :-)

tracibug: this is just adorable. Where did you get the panels? My sister loves chickens. Thanks for any help. BrendaK |
Great job. Thanks for posting.

Brenda-
I found this panel at Family Theads in San Juan Bautista. It's called French Hens by Timeless Treasures.

tracibug, beautiful quilt. My Mom would love it, she has chickens all over in her house. |
Adorable quilt tracibug - your colors all go together so well.
Lisa49 - sorry about your news. Will be praying for your husband, and for you and your family. |
we are all praying for you and your husband.
Hang in there. My daughter has had a liver and kidney transplant this past Feb, SHe is doing well now, but it has been quite a year. There is so much that can be done now, check everything out and get the best Dr that you can find. We were lucky that hse lives in Durham, near Duke Hospital which is one of the country's best in transplants and cut of the edge knowledge. Let me know how things are going. Joan |
very cute pattern great job
|
those are soooo cute
|
How cute! Nice job!
|
My best friend collects chickens and several years ago she did made this hysterically funny, funky appliqued quilt. Believe the pattern was called "Hens on Heels". Chickens with these outrageous shoes.
You did a wonderful job with your quilt. Love the pants on the chickens! |
Lisa49-your and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
|
You gave the chickens a good home.
|
they are wonderful! you must get the book, 'why animals don't wear clothes'. you will love it! i'll check on the title and correct it if needed!
OK. the correct title is Animals should definitely not wear clothing, by judi barrett. it's a kids' book, but adults like it, too! your chickens in pants made me think of it and gave me a good chuckle!! |
