These are wonderful. I love the use of non-Christmas colors/fabrics and I really like the swirl fabric you chose to set them off. Looking forward to seeing your finished project. I'm considering trying one of these at some point.

Cheers, K

Dear Goosepoint, Stunning trees and beautiful paper piecing. I am fairly new to quilting, but have some art experience and I would like to suggest that you cluster 4, 6 or 8 tree blocks together within your sashing rows. I am basing my suggestion on the display of your trees in the second photo. The blue is powerful and you may lose visual impact of the gorgeous trees to the sashing.

Please share a photo of your finished quilt when it is done.

I will go back and read all the posts in this thread but, if you haven't already answered this, how long did it take for each one and were you real experienced at PP when you started (you darn sure are now, lol).

Actually this was my first time with paper piecing. The first ones took about 45 minutes each. It took some time to wrap my brain around always laying the fabrics right and sewing on the right side of the lines. Once it clicked I could spit them out in 15 minutes or less. It actually takes longer to pick the fabrics and I always press as I go. And talk about mess :o) You can track me all through the house. LOL Hubby missed me so I got the bright idea that I would go to the family room and pick off the paper backing. It looked like a shreader had exploded. Hubby wanted to take a pic but I said no way. Once you get the hang of PP you can flat roll through them and if like me you will love the process. It is pretty cool to see all the exact points and the sharpness of the stitching. I love paper piecing.
