There's another Karla here, she goes my the name Quiltgranny, who sends links to fabrics wished for--good deals. She keeps sending them until one give in. Watch for her. Be careful what you say you'd like someday.

Anyway--I've drooled over Wildflower Serenade fabrics, which I mentioned in Main. Coordinating fabrics have never been purchased before, so I was intrigued. I loved some from Winter too. My in-laws give us money for Christmas, so this is what I spent mine on. Happiness!! Now I'll hit EQ6 to decide just what to do! I'm thinking two different blocks alternating...

The other stuff includes two batiks, one flannel, one for more floral log cabin squares, one kids', and some $3 a yard pieces.

Oh--there was a free pattern sent along too.

PS Thanks, Karla! ;)

Hi Karla,

It's Karla #2, your enabler friend, lol!! Like the other car rental center, I gotta "try harder", ha ha. Just tryin' to be helpful, ya know? Yep, gotta watch out for me, alright - I'm liable to twist yer off right off!
 Anyway, I'm SO glad to see that you received your fabrics and that you like them so well. Sure couldn't beat those prices, either. Looks like you picked up a few other nice fabs, too. See, I'm not totally blind to 'other' fabs. :D And, you scored a free pattern, too! That's awesome!

 Can't wait to see what you end up doing with all those lovely fabs. Do keep us posted.

I can hardly wait til February, when KT's newest fabric line, "Butterfly Garden" debuts... Say, I'll keep ya posted on those sales, okay?

Your helpful fabric friend,

Karla in CO

Iluv2quilt 12-29-2009 04:26 AM

Oh my gosh! Those fabrics are wonderful, my favorites in all the colors I like. Congrats! Enjoy!

Jim's Gem 12-29-2009 12:03 PM

Beautiful fabrics!!

barnbum 12-29-2009 12:05 PM

AND I found two more--from the KT Vine set today for $5 a yard! I stepped into a quilt shop I rarely enter because I was in the area. Glad I did!

Only $5 a yard for KT?! Do they take on line orders??!! What, no pictures? Whatcha gonna do with this new yardage?

Drooling in CO,

Karla

Okay--you twisted my arm--here's what I bought today.
I love the fall critter piece--and the leaves matched it perfectly (middle). The batiks (left) are for a kaleidoscope spring changing to fall idea... and the reddish one with the gold swirl was $5..and then there are the two KT on the right!!

Quiltgranny 12-29-2009 07:35 PM

Karla,

I LOVE all your fabs!! See, I'm not just a KT snob, lol. What nice additions to your stash. Enjoy!

barnbum 12-29-2009 07:48 PM

I really really really need to make a resolution to NOT buy one more piece until I've finished 37 quilts with what I have!! I'm such a weakling! Sheesh.

I so love that fall animal one--I should have bought more!

Yeah, well when you figure out how to make those resolutions work, please let me know. I'm afraid I'm in the same boat you are. I am slowing down tho, a lot. In fact, when I stopped by our LQS yesterday to spend a little gift certificate a friend gave me for Christmas, I about fainted at the prices - $10.99 a yard for just regular old cotton!! Just a year ago, they were only (a relative term, ya know) $7.99. What happened?! I'm kinda glad I bought too many fabs this year, cuz at this higher price I won't be getting any!! :(

You don't really have 37 WIPS, do ya?!  I've got several, but I bow to you o Queen of Unfinished Quilts!!

Sticker shocked Karla in CO

barnbum 12-29-2009 08:02 PM

No--I am finishing up my only WIP now--a Triple Irish Chain--I meant there's enough fabric for 37 quilts in there--backs included! I need to sell some!!

tuesy 12-29-2009 08:04 PM

What beautiful fabrics!! I have always loved this line of fabrics..

Uh oh, begging a thousand pardons o Queen of enough fabric.... Actually, you should be crowned for only having ONE unfinished quilt, and earning wings because you're finishing it. That's just awesome, Karla. Kudos to you! Keep up the great work! I just visited your website for the first time, and I fell head over heels in love with all your critters. They're all so sweet and so cute! :D Your quilts are all quite lovely too, both yours and the ones you have up for sale. You're a very talented quilter.

barnbum 12-29-2009 08:11 PM

Nah--I just do a few things well--pamper horses, teach, quilt, take photos. I'm so glad you looked at the website!! I need to update--but it's so time consuming.

I have many orphan blocks... they don't count as WIP do they?

No, of course not! Where "two or more are gathered", (like, sewn together), now that constitutes a WIP, lol!!

happy sewer--check out my post in Main asking about the fabrics ..just search through my post and it'll be near the top. There are several links there. Have fun!!

Eddie 01-01-2010 01:55 PM

I love the WS fabric from KT, I've made several things from it. I love everything KT puts out, their fabric lines are a favorite of mine. Looking forward to seeing your creation from it! :D

barnbum 01-01-2010 01:56 PM

Eddie! This purchase was made because of the projects you've posted!! I've never purchased a series before. Never. I think that means you should pay half the cost. Right? RIGHT?? It must be nice to know you were such an inspiration, eh?

Well, very cool! My state quilting guild asked me to be the program speaker at our January meeting and I'm taking a layer cake of Wildflower Serenade to give away as a door prize. So if you can make it down to Arkansas, come on down - ya might win it! :D Glad you got inspired by me, I've gotten sooooo much inspiration from others here, it's what literally has kept me going at times. :)
