Wonderful story, beautiful, comforting quilt... with a good buddy to keep you company. You did a great job and I love it. May you enjoy the memories of your dear one for many years and feel his love when you look at that quilt. Magnificent......

Thats really a pretty quilt. My husband passed 18 years ago and I still have his western shirts I have kept for a quilt. Now I am thinking of making my 2 daughters and son a lap quilt with them. Know they would love it.

Pauline, bless your heart. I will be making one from my husband's shirts. I don't know when or the pattern, but will make it and will remember the good times. Thanks for sharing your heartfelt story.

What a great story and a beautiful quilt! I have to ask, having had so many of these plaid shirts in my life when I was married....did he only wear blues or did you save the other colors for another quilt? My ex had shirts that were predominately browns, greens, reds, etc. in addition to all of the blues.

The nine patches are 9 inches finished.

In our earlier years the colors of his shirts varied to mulitcolored stripes, pink, neutrals but in the later years they were mostly blue because I bought most of his shirts and blues were my favorite. He never complained.
