This is a quilt I made for the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative November auction (at least I think it will be in November's auction). It is inspired by a painting by Synthia Saint James, who was gracious enough to give me her written permission to use her design. She called her painting "Tchokola." I'm going to ask her for the translation. I'm naming it "Dance to the Music." The earrings are made from jump hoops used for making jewelry. In other words, 3D. Very fun. I hope you like my quilt.

I love your quilt. Very original and artistic and it must have given the original artist a thrill to think that you wanted to make a quilt after her artwork

Very nice quilt.

There's a Jazz-fusion album by Jean-Luc Ponty titled Tchokola.
Wonder if there's any relation. Nice music too. You can listen
to it on Youtube.

I wonder if tchokola means chocolate because it sure sounds like it.

Just lovely. You know these are small quilts, too. How big is this? During one of the doll swaps on the board Chele challenged us to make a quilt for AAQI and 12 of us responded. They are all headed to Houston in November. A great cause.

My quilt is nine inches wide and eight inches tall. Of the three I've made, this one is the smallest.

Thank you, Amma. I've never thought of myself as creative OR talented, but turning pictures into quilts has turned out to be much easier than I thought it would be. Now that I've learned how, whenever any picture catches my eye, I think "Hm. I wonder if I could quilt that."

I already have my next AAQI quilt picked out, and it's from someone else's pattern. I think the next one will be from one of my own photo images. It's exciting to think about.

Very nice, and will probably fetch a good price at the auction. "Tchokola" - sounds like chocolate to me!!! ;-)
