Hi everybody! I made my granddaughter a rag quilt so I made my grandson a Jacob's Ladder throw that was 60" x 84".
Next came my daughter and her husband. They both got 60" x 84" Jacob's Ladders too. Now I have one of my daughters families fixed up with their own throws. One more daughter and family to do. 5 more throws to make. I love quilting!!!! :-P

I really like the Jacob's Ladder...love your color choices!

danmar 03-01-2010 05:48 PM

This batting is so fluffy when you use it as you can tell in the quilt. I'll call the quilt store tomorrow and find out the brand, type it is for sure. All I know is that it's a 4 oz. batting.

The three quilts are great. Love the raggy quilt - one of my next projects. The other two have wonderful choices of fabric colors. Great job.

Hi everybody! I called the quilt store and the batting I used is just a 4 oz. polyester. They said that Hobb's sells a 3.3 oz., 4 oz., 6, 8, and 10 oz. It really makes a nice 'fluffy' quilt.

loved the colors selected for this jacobs ladder. Is this really easy to do?? I am all fumble finger with cutting and putting together patterns. Thanks again for your help.

Yes, it really is simple. I can help you to make it. I've helped alot of other people by email. It's just 4 Patches and Triangle-Square Units. I'm not familiar with all the terms of quilting yet and half to go get my quilting book and look up everything so I can say what things are. But that doesn't stop me!!!
You can sew the Triange-Sq. units before you cut them too, so you don't have to sew on the bias. I've already sent you my email address so just email me if you need help.

quiltingfan 03-12-2010 01:39 PM

How did you make them so fluffy? My dh wants me to make my quilts fluffier than I do even though I use hi-loft batting.

Harmony 03-12-2010 01:41 PM

All are gorgeous! You have a great color sense!

I use to use high loft batting for fluffyness until the quilt store I usually go to showed me this. It is a 4 oz. polyester. I called and asked Tom since I had people interested in it. He said that Hobbs sells a lot of different ones, including 4 oz, 6 oz. It's posted in one of my topics. I'll find it and edit this to include the weights. It makes a really beautiful, fluffy quilt!!!!

OK! Hobb's sells a 3.3, 4,6,8 and 10 oz.
