My latest Quilt of Valor for Veterans presentation next year.
 

I was so very impressed by the presentation of 25 quilts to veterans this year http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...n-t283562.html that I have already started on next year.
Have completed my first top for the occasion. The pictures are not so good but you can see how the top turned out.

Great quilt-looks like a perfect pattern for using up scraps too :-) How many quilts do you plan on making for next year?

Last year we did 25 quilts of valor. I would like to contribute at least 6 this year. I am going to have to locate some more patriotic scraps. Our guild pays for the quilting. We have a shop nearby that only charges $50 to quilt quilts for veterans. They usually quilt them with a stars and heart panto. These brave men have given so much to us, this is the least we can do for them.

That's a beautiful quilt that will be cherished by a brave soldier.

Donna, your quilt looks great. That is super that your guild pays for the quilting and that a quilt shop gives a break for these quilts. Such a worthwhile donation. Our guild also donates so I try to do 4-6 each year because of my son being deployed twice.

Very nice quilt and such a worthy cause. I think this movement is so noble and I that quilters have certainly stepped up to do fill a heart-felt need. So many veterans have been blessed by people giving their talents to such great group of people.

That will make some wonderful veteran very happy!

Our local quilt guild makes r/w/b quilts for our local vets each year. believe this year it was 12 quilts. given at the local veterans program.
We each bring a quilt pattern , the members then make one or two squares in that pattern, they go back to the member that brought the pattern, they put it together and we have long arm quilters in the club that quilt them. this year my block I turned in was a windowpane 9 patch. turned out very nice. used red for the sashings. made the blocks pop.

That's a great quilt. Someone will really enjoy it. Thank you for helping our veterans.
