My little "barn quilt"...
1 Attachment(s)
I have always loved barn quilts. This will have to do for now! :) Its an Ohio star (cuz we live in OH) and the flowers that we see looking out to the "barn" are the same colors that I used to paint the block. A little painters tape and a ruler-easy peasy! I want it to "weather" a bit, and then I will add some polyurethane to seal it.

Terrific barn quilt! Like the barn too! :)

I love it! Great colors.

I wish I could see that view every day!

Cute, cute, cute. I want a barn just like yours :)
|
It's darlin!! Great Idea!! You'll have to post again after it weathers a bit. :)
|
Love the quilt. Its placement is just perfect.
I just read on another thread that polyurethane yellows--the thread about DH making a barn quilt for a board member. Sorry I can't post a link. |
That little barn is too, too cute! And your quilt block is just the perfect finishing touch! I love it!!!
|
It is awesome!!
|
Very pretty!
|
It looks great!! I love it!

That is so cute! We have a huge semi dreadful airplane hanger and hubby agreed to let me make it a "quilt". I don't even know where to start. What size is yours and what kind of paint did you use?
Kudos! |
Love it. I also have one like this, just different colors.
|
Cute, cute, cute. I am really wanting one now. Peggy

Where in Ohio I could drive by and take a look. Really cute.
|
That is awesome!
|
What a cute little building for a darling barn quilt. Makes me want one too.
|
I love it! Might have to do one of those someday....
|
I love the quilt and your building is adorable!
|
You did a great job. Charming.
|
Love it, love it love it!

Awesome quilt, love the barn also. That would make me a nice sewing studio.

sheriR....mine is only 24" x 24"....just bought a piece of particle(?) board that was pre-cut at HD, put several coats of white primer on. I sketched out the block on graph paper, then measured and drew the design on the board with a pencil. Used painter's tape to block off one section at a time, and tried to be very patient to let each coat of paint dry before ripping off the tape to do the next section! I just used acrylic craft paint. Will seal it in the fall after it has weathered and toned down a bit. If you google "barn quilts", there are tons of tutorials on making full-sized quilts. Most, I believe, are done in 4 sections. Have fun!

Lovely!
Is that your quilting studio? Mine is not as fancy, but similar and I want to put one on the end of mine as well. |
That's my hubby's chicken coop with the egg boxes I painted. Id like to paint a quilt like Jill did out of the red, white and blue colors. She made hers so cute!! I appreciate her sharing her info!

Now that's a pretty sight! I love it!
|
very cute!!!!

I want to do a barn quilt for my big detached garage with steeple roof. Do they have an Oregon Star? Is that a stupid question? Where would I look?
