Doesn't that drive you nuts! My schnauzer Gus has to sit on whatever I put on the floor. AND refuses to move!!

Hope your doggy is better behaved than King Gustav is!!!!

Moonpi 10-22-2008 01:19 PM

Don't count on it. This little angel makes me wanna jump off the roof alot of the time but then he gives me the eyes and licks my chin and I'm gone. He is quite the charmer. I love Schnauzers by the way, used to have one.

Looks like you need to toss a dog cookie in the opposite direction. Mine can be quite the monsters at times too, but those eyes, they do sometimes just melt your heart!!

sewnsewer2 10-22-2008 02:05 PM

 Well, it's pooch approved! Looks pretty too.

Marcia 10-22-2008 02:09 PM

I like your quilt--but I love your pup! He is just too cute-looks like he has laid claim to this one.

zyxquilts 10-22-2008 02:12 PM

OOOhhh how could you be mad at that face?

Kyiav10 10-22-2008 02:15 PM

Beautiful dog and quilt!!!

Kyia

:) At least he's only a little fart instead of a big stinky one. :D

Boston1954 10-22-2008 02:38 PM

You don't know this, but I hired a quilt inspector for you. This was his first day on the job, and he wanted to do it right. :-)

sewjoyce 10-22-2008 04:31 PM

Beautiful quilt -- and even more adorable puppy :!:

tlrnhi 10-22-2008 06:44 PM

Look at that sweet face! How can you ask him to move?
He's just saying how much he loves it and would LOVE to have it for his very own!!

PrettyKitty 10-23-2008 02:37 AM

Wow! What amazing lifelike applique! You managed to make it look like a real dog!

sewsewquilter 10-23-2008 04:56 AM

He's like ours, wanting all of the attention all of the time. And they usually get it.

sandpat 10-23-2008 04:59 AM

He's just telling you that the cat quilt inspectors do not get to have all the fun! They make it sooo hard to get mad at them though, don't they?

Bevanger 10-23-2008 05:04 AM

Awwwwwwwwwwwww I think he/she is claiming it as theirs..... :D

kd124 10-23-2008 10:39 PM

Just doing a little quality check!! :D

liwilliams 10-24-2008 07:37 AM

Awww....How Sweet!! My little dogs do the same. They just love to lay on my stuff when I'm trying to work on it.

I really like this quilt. I like the way that blue pops, and the black and white squares of different fabrics make it interesting. I'm thinking that I would like to make one - using different colors. That's when I also notice that the squares are not all the same size. Do you have a pattern?

Thanks,
Linda

I got the idea from a quilt someone on this forum did in black and white and hot pink. She got it from a quilting magazine. I just eyed it and took a stab at it on my own. It's real easy. There are two rectangles and two squares and a strip.

The rectangles are 5" x 7"
The squares are 5" x 5"
The strip is 2" x 12"

The blocks are 12" x 12"

That quilt is between lap sized and twin. I did 4 blocks across by 5 down. There are 20 black on white squares, 20 white on black, 20 black on white rectangles and 20 white on black. Then just put them together so they alternate.

I will be finishing the binding today and I will post a better picture and a closeup of the block.

I did one just like she's describing! Black & white fabrics with hot pink strips.... a "Project Runway" quilt for my daughter. Did you and I talk about this before KrazyQuilter? I can't remember! I got my idea/pattern from a recent quilt magazine. The only difference that I can tell is that my blocks are HUGE!! 19 1/2" unfinished!

Here's the one I made:

OHHHH! Look at those eyes!!! How could you possibly get mad!!

Hey!! Of course I don't mind!! :D Yours came out beautifully!! Mine is on its way to the long arm quilter... probably will have it back in November, I imagine! :D I'll probably save it to be a Christmas gift.

Quilt4u 10-24-2008 09:57 AM

Graet Quilts. Love them.

KrazyQuilter 10-24-2008 10:04 AM

This quilt was going to be for my 12 year old nephew but my DH thinks it is too femme so I am making another quilt with the same pattern using dk and ligh blues, brown and beige and we will let him pick the one he wants and the other will go to my dad. If I know my boy...I think he will pick this one! Then I can do my "Toldja So" dance for my husband.

Janstar 10-24-2008 10:12 AM

Really great quilt and your inspector isn't bad either. Don't ya just love them? My little guys have to check out all my stuff too!!!!!

liwilliams 10-24-2008 02:36 PM

Thanks CrazyQuilter for the instructions!! Sometimes it's easier to ask than to figure it out yourself. hehehe!!! I've spent my time figuring out how much fabric to get instead. I was thinking of doing it with two Christmas fabrics and then gold for the stripes.

The blue binding just makes this quilt so stunning!!! I think it's perfect for a boy - but your hubby may be right. He may want something else. Keep us posted which quilt wins! LOL!!!

Brazen, I couldn't see your quilt - sometimes that happens to me because of the computer I use. <Sigh>
