I use to have my memory quilt as my avatar. I recently replaced it with a grasshopper
Many asked about my quilt and I realized I didn't have any "good " pics of it, so today when I was at my parents I got some

I made this for my parents , Christmas 2007 after my brother passed away from Cancer November 16,2007. There had seen one like this and mentioned how nice it was, so my work was cut out for me  After my Bother passed away my Mom for a poem about Dragon flies and it meant a lot to her , that poem is on the quilt

Thank you soooo much for sharing this, it truly is beautiful...I am curious how you would do pictures like that on a quilt...how is that done?

sewnsewer2 07-08-2010 07:51 AM

That is really nice. I am very interested in a memory quilt. Please tell me exactly what kind of fabric sheets and printer you use. Thanks.

very nice--something we should probably all do for our families!--it says a lot!

(and the quality of your pictures is excellent!--you should do a tutorial!)

Thank You everyone for the kind comments !

It was fairly simple ( the making process ) I used EQ printables with my regular printer an HP 3520 deskjet. I scanned the pictures into my computer and used Photo quality to print on the fabric. Then because of the different sizes of the pics I used a background fabric to make them all the same size. the one pic of us girls was off center and I could have fixed it , but every quilt I make has a mistake and that is the one for this one , then I just did it the way you would do any quilt . As far as layout and such.

Eventually it will come back to me ( I think , hey I better ask ! LOL) My parents want to hang it up on a wall . So far they just treasure it

Sorry for you loss, Very nice work on this memory quilt. What did you use to apply the pictures? How will it wash?

sharon b 07-11-2010 03:13 PM

It is suppose to be machine washable , that is what the package says anyways .

I used the Electic Quilt printables
