I had 5 and just upgraded to 6. I love it.

That's a great Halloween quilt.
I've had EQ6 for a couple years and rarely try it anymore. I just don't have time to really learn it.
But you've made me want to try it again.

my sister is so good at it. She helped me with getting the blocks in the library, and the colors in there, once they are in there, I can play.

Great Job - I love my EQ6 it has really let me be creative and try new things.

amma 04-26-2010 03:25 PM

Good Job  I can' wait to see more of your creations :D:D:D I spend more time in EQ than quilting  :lol::lol:

I think that's going to happen to me too.

sharon b 04-26-2010 03:59 PM

Love it and it is on my someday list to buy, EQ6 but I am nervous because it only lets you install three times

Did you see where EQ 7 is being released in June ? I wonder what if any changes will be in it ?

 Great job

no, did not see that about EQ7. But on EQ6 it lets you install it 4 times.

fabric-holic 04-27-2010 01:23 AM

If you use up the 4 installations you can buy another from EQ. I don't think its fair but that's how it works.

rootyr 04-27-2010 01:57 AM

Love it!

Quilt4u 04-27-2010 01:58 AM

Congrats!!! Very nice

I agree, I don't think it's fair either.

What a fun quilt. Looks like you are having fun.

nursie76 04-29-2010 08:18 PM

EQ 7 has changed the way installations work. If I read it correctly, you can switch back and forth between several computers with just a couple clicks. I just got EQ 6 for Christmas, but I am seriously considering updating. It also allows you to create using photos, a Kaleidoscope application. Check it out here:

TEXMEXGAL 04-29-2010 08:42 PM

what is "EQ " ?

thimblebug6000 04-29-2010 08:51 PM

Hi Texmexgal, it's short for Electric Quilt a quilting computer program.

EQ is electric quilt, you can make quilts using your computer.

craftybear 05-28-2010 06:12 PM

so you can scan your fabric into the EQ6 program???

nursie76 05-28-2010 07:03 PM

Yes, it is explained in the very thick manual :-)

zkosh 05-28-2010 07:47 PM

I just preordered the upgrade to EQ7 while they have such a good price on it. I feel a little guilty since I haven't gotten proficient with the one I have yet, but the new features look so great and the discount was so good that I couldn't resist it.

Maybe this summer after school is out I can get better at using it. Does this qualify as a UFO or maybe a WIP? LOL

lazyquilter 05-28-2010 08:16 PM

If you didn't have the 4 or the 5, can you still jump in with the 6 or do you need the others before it?

enquering minds need to know, because I'm to stupid to try to figure it out on my own..

Blue

baubo1234 05-28-2010 08:28 PM

Has anyone tried the EQ Quilt design wizard program? Is it similar to the other EQ's?

zkosh 05-28-2010 08:33 PM

You can jump in with the 6. No previous one required, just practice and read the manual to learn how to use it.

pattral 05-28-2010 08:35 PM

I love it, just in time for Halloween

nursie76 05-28-2010 08:38 PM

I like the fact that you are not limited to the number of computers it can be installed on, just that you can only have 2 computers up and running it at the same time. I can't imagine why one would have it running on 2 at once unless your DH is using it at the same time.

I will install it on my laptop, net book, PC in the office and PC in the sewing room.

sewcrafty 05-28-2010 10:11 PM

I love your pumpkins!!! Too cute!! How are you holding out on the wait for EQ7? :-D :-D I'm ready to burst!!

Me too!

I even forgot who I ordered from and panicked!!!! Couldn't find a confirmation Email! So I called EQ and I did order it from them, but an email didn't go out...phew! Apparently, an email doesn't go out until it is shipped and billed.

The limit on number of computers would prevent someone from buying it, then running a class using it.

I have EQ6 and love it although I know that I'm not using it to its potential.

Of course! That makes perfect sense!

sharon b 05-29-2010 04:31 PM

Has any one heard when they might be shipping it yet ? This will be my first time getting it and I am so anxious to get it in my hands

nursie76 05-29-2010 05:24 PM

I believe that the lady at EQ mentioned that they would start sending out emails when they started to ship and bill around the 7th....ooooo, I don't know how I am going to wait that long!!!

sharon b 05-29-2010 05:26 PM

The 7th !?! WOW I hope so that is so close

nursie76 05-29-2010 05:28 PM

I do believe she mentioned that as the date that they would start shipping.

sharon b 05-29-2010 05:29 PM

Don't worry I won't hold you to it... LOL I am just excited to try it ... this is my first EQ program

I got mine for Christmas and am slowly beginning to learn it. I tried doing it lesson by lesson, but I got impatient, so now I have started flipping through the book look for how to do what I want when i want it.
