A wood-turning friend made this for me. I'm excited! It might be a hint to make his quilt. Its on my list, after this purple beast I'm working on now.

Oooooh - nice! I recently re-discovered my manual iron and used it all weekend. So much easier than all the up-and-down to the ironing board.
Awesome talent. Best irons ever.
Very kind of him to make the iron for you. What a nice wood he used.
Very nice!
I've never seen a tool like this. Is it made to "iron" the seams as you go?
Beautiful, would be nice on short seams.
It is really beautiful! He is talented! It looks like it will give you years of wonderful service and will lower the electric bill!
Such a nice gift!
I have a hard plastic one, like my Hera marker i use to put "lines" on my fabric to quilt. I love the wooden one!
It's beautiful!!!! If not a hint, it's a pretty incentive to start! I wish for such a friend!
What a handy tool and thoughtful neighbor...
Wha is it? and how does it work?
I have been using my fingernail to finger press as I go on small seams, think I need a wooden iron, works great on doing paperpiecing too.

This is a beautiful presser. I have always used a mini wallpaper seam roller. Works well.
It is always wonderful when a useful item is also a thing of beauty and this fits both descriptions!
Super gift. Nice friend. BrendaK

A great gift, and nice neighbor! We all can use a neighbor like that! :)
Found one once for a dime-people did not know what it was but had seen Eleanor Burns use one.
Very pretty. I like the idea of a small manual iron for small seams
I use a vintage mini wall-paper seam roller as well. It does the job!
It looks like you are hand quilting your purple quilt. Very nice! |
