I was borrowing my friends light box every time I needed one. Well today my husband made me my own.
I had this extra sewing machine table that I wasn't using. We went to Lowes and bought a 12x24" light fixture. Hubby put an on/off switch on it and had a piece of 1/4" plate glass cut to fit the whole. It is perfect!!! And its all mine! |

Aren't our hubby's the best. Mine will also do "honey do" things for my quilting room. Especially now that he is retired.:) My daughter calls him the quilting enabler!!

Question from a newbie - what is a light box table used for?

Wonderful light box. Great job. Thank you for sharing.

It looks as though that table could also be used for other needs when the light option is not used. Maybe an ironing table, or cutting table. I imagin thin, maybe 3/8" plywood, cut to size to place on top to convert to what ever the need. I used 5/8", 2' X 4', and it is quite heavy. Now I just need to install the light box.

very nice light box set up. enjoy

I use an old x-ray reader box out of a hospital...it works great but it's large and heavy. Vanessa |

Very Clever! Enjoy your light box. You and hubby really had your thinking caps on for this one.

Great idea! Before I got my light box at an estate sale I made a temporary one. I took the light off my fish tank, turned it upside down so the light was facing the ceiling and put it under one of those clear plastic tubs (also turned upside down. It worked great and when I was done I just took it apart and put the light back on the fish tank!
