Janstar:
Your little puppy quilts are darling..using the baby color on the little white dog in the quilt is so creative. How absolutely cute.

Feathers 04-21-2008 04:17 PM

This is an amazing way to make quilts! It's a Maxine Rosenthal book. I took a class on it. I can't pass any fabric now without measuring the return and trying to visualize what it would look like.

This is the fabric I used for the One block wonder quilt.

One Block Wonder I made.

A quilt I made out of 30s fabric. It's small but I did one.

Sondray, I am so sorry! I'm so new at this and I think I really made a boo boo. I didn't mean to go on your page. How do I make my own page?? I was so excited about finally getting this to work. So sorry. Jan

sondray 04-21-2008 04:59 PM

lin 04-22-2008 05:29 AM

You sure had yourself a busy weekend Sondray! I love the "coo and poo" line. Too cute. LOL It all looks great, and I love the apron. My dh needs one. Alas, I have no embroidery machine, but I suppose I could applique it on.

Janstar~I love your enthusiasm. :) You've done some really pretty work and it's nice to get to see some of it. Oh, and if you want to start your own thread, you can simply click on the "newtopic" button at the top left side of the forum page, and then fill in the subject line and "voila", you've got your own thread. :)

Rebecca Chambley 04-22-2008 05:47 AM

WOW..........

Janstar 04-22-2008 10:18 AM

Lin, Thanks so much for the help on making my own thread. How do I get my stuff off and in the correct place? Loretta, That's our BOM and I will get the info for you Sat. at our class. Thankyou!

Quilting Aggi 04-22-2008 10:27 AM

Izy 04-22-2008 10:41 AM

Sondray AND Janstar - Great work.

I love your embroidery Sondray, one day...sooon, I will get to grips with starting some, I have the scan n sew kit to download from the net...but as yet, haven't even got it out of the box!! So now you are inspiring me to get started..... :D :D

Janstar - You have some lovely projects there!! :D :D

sondray 04-22-2008 04:18 PM

Just think ladies, you can now do complete quilts, potholders, purses, lace, etc. completely with an embroidery machine.

Isn't technology great!

Janstar 04-25-2008 07:14 PM

Loretta, The name of the pattern we used on our BOM is Pieceful Nights: A Sampler Quilt by Lori Smith. I hope this helps. Thankyou! Jan

blahel 04-25-2008 07:29 PM

Firstly let me say you are very creative and i love what you have done with your embroidery machine..i too have an embroidery machine and have a couple of questions..what do you use underneath to stabilise the material and do you always use a hoop no matter how big or small your embroidery is?

sondray 04-26-2008 01:59 PM

Blahel,
I always use stabilizer underneath and always hoop no matter what size.
The stabilizer I use is Sulky Tear Easy or Sulky Sticky Tear Away.

If you have any other questions just PM me. Will be glad to help you.

Sondra

I love that apron. I need to make myself an apron. I'm forever getting stuff on my when I cook and I'm always ruining my clothing. It makes me so mad....

I keep coming back to your quilts, Janstar. They are so lovely. Haven't yet decided which I like best but I'm so partial to scrap maybe the yellow scrap is edging out the black one by just a thread. Good work and thanks so much for sharing.

amma 04-29-2008 11:47 AM

I like them all :D especially the coo and poo :D :D
