Well, we are in Georgia now! The weather was bad when we left NE IL (lost a day of loading the rental truck) but fortunately, we got out before it got really bad there. Since we’ve been here, we’ve had a four hour power outage, below average temps (really, who hasn’t), me with a 4-5 day headache/body ache/fever thing, a less than 1” snowfall that brought EVERYTHING to a halt, delayed delivery of PODS (making second attempt of first one today)….and we love it here!

The 8’ POD delivery was a success…the 16’ POD delivery will be interesting!

Here are a few pictures of my new quilting (and yet to be organized) space.

I didn't mean to include Reggie...this is his new favorite place to sleep...sun and a heat vent...he's in heaven!

Jim's Gem 01-15-2010 11:21 AM

Looks great. And you have your own bathroom? Now you only need a place to plug in that hot water pot/coffee maker and you are set!!

Lainee 01-15-2010 11:25 AM

Yes..my very own bathroom and nine outlets to pick from for the coffeemaker!

Boston1954 01-15-2010 11:28 AM

Wonderful! You have a great space. Puppy likes it too.

marsye 01-15-2010 11:31 AM

Tell Reggie to get his lazy hairy butt up and get to work! LMAO

Justquilting 01-15-2010 11:34 AM

Great space!!

janRN 01-15-2010 11:46 AM

Looks like Reggie adjusted to the move pretty easily. Hope you do, too. Good luck in your new home.

What a nice big room. I hate packing and unpacking so I don't envy you but I do feel for your aches and pains (that's the worse part of moving!).

I'm jealous a bathroom and a place for a coffeemaker, heck you could put a toaster oven or microwave in there too...LOL

Please post a pic when you get the room done.

sewsewquilter 01-15-2010 12:01 PM

Reggie looks like he is in heaven. :-)

Honey 01-15-2010 12:12 PM

Good luck with everything. You have a wonderful space.

Jingle 01-15-2010 12:43 PM

Looks like you and Reggie will have a great sewing space. :D :D :D

cjc 01-15-2010 12:45 PM

Welcome to Georgia! Ellijay is beautiful! Wait until apple season...

paintedquilt 01-15-2010 01:16 PM

Reggie's one smart pup :!: I can't wait to see your room set up. Good luck with the unpacking :-P

Oklahoma Suzie 01-15-2010 03:03 PM

Looks nice.

CajunQuilter2 01-15-2010 03:16 PM

Thanks for including your sweet puppy. He looks so comfortable there. When we were in Marietta for a year we visited Ellijay. Beautiful there. Enjoy it.

Glad you made it down there safe and sound. I had a friend who lived in Atlanta and she said they would cancel school if the slightest bit of snow or ice was on the ground. Being from Ohio she thought this so funny.

amma 01-15-2010 04:44 PM

That is an awesome sewing room :D:D:D

Deb G 01-15-2010 05:55 PM

You'll love your new room. And as long as you have a bathroom, coffee maker, and all those plugins, you might as well get a little fridge. It would keep your chocolate from melting. lol

sewjoyce 01-15-2010 06:28 PM

Your space looks huge!! And your own bathroom!! How nice is that????

And don't apologize for the picture of Reggie -- he is so cute! :D

peaceandjoy 01-15-2010 06:48 PM

That's going to be a fantastic room! Reggie is a handsome boy, looks like he likes his new home.

Moving is sooo much work - but when you are finished unpacking you're going to have a great sewing room. I hope you'll post new pics when you're settled in.

Hi Lainee---welcome to GA!!! It has been cold here, but it will be HOT before you know it :)

I love your quilt room---you are going to be lost in creativity in there before you know it.

littlehud 01-15-2010 09:27 PM

That is going to be a wonderful sewing room.

Bevanger 01-16-2010 07:58 AM

Tell Reggie to move over, I'm joining him! I'd love a heat vent near me, especially if it were on the floor.

wvdek 01-16-2010 05:25 PM

Ohhh, she has her own potty! and will ya look at the built in sauna/tanning bed? Move over Reggie.

patsyo56721 01-16-2010 05:34 PM

Reggie looks like he is enjoying it.

Rachelcb80 01-16-2010 05:44 PM

That is a fantastic room! You are soooo lucky! Can't wait to see updated pics when you're finished unpacking.

I don't live in GA so I can't say welcome there but welcome to the South! I'm a northerner transplanted down here (from western WA) and I have really come to love the South and think of it as home.

kacy 49 01-16-2010 07:58 PM

You have a great space. I am so green.....oh to have a bathroom all your own and 9 plug ins!

Thanks everyone. After the last POD gets here tomorrow, I should get my Costco table back (temp computer table now). Yesterday, we moved a really pretty hardwood cart up there. It use to be in the kitchen up north and there it also had to be used as my cutting table.

After my Sweetie gets his shop up and running, he will build me an L shaped sewing table and some picture/chauchski (sp?) ledges and a big ironing surface!!!!!!.

I forgot to mention, I also have a ceiling fan and a cute little window (and a dormer window).

thequilteddove 01-17-2010 06:08 AM

Nice space! And you have a 'water closet'!!!! Add a mini frig, microwave & computer & you'll only have 2 leave it to restock! Woohoot!

sewgull 01-17-2010 04:38 PM

Welcome South. Get the sewing room ready and have fun.
A sewing room with a bathroom, how great.
Take careof yourself and get well.

mrsmail 01-21-2010 08:55 PM

That's wonderful. You'll get it all sorted out.
