My son just moved back out, so we changed a bunch of rooms around.... Moved our bedroom downstairs, grandkids get my old sewing room back for their toys, the spare bed, and I get our old room for my new sewing room! Even with our kids helping, both DH & I were hardly moving when we were done. lol!!!! Well, almost done anyways, still a bit more to do.
Still haven't gone through and sorted it all yet... My old oak table which I used to use fell apart while moving it, so now I have these. We had one, bought another. :) |

A few more....
Blu checking everything out.... Had to have my old doll bed in there again! Finally have a 'design wall'! :) :) Flannel backed tablecloth. |
It looks great! I wish I had an actual room for my sewing. I've taken over the dining room. I don't have enough storage space though. I love Blu!

YIPPEE!!
it looks awesome - very spacious and bright! |
Thanks Jen!! :D I do love it! I had my dining room table for sewing when my kids were younger too! Which was good as I was right in the middle of them all! :D
All the poor pets were so confused over the room changes! Our dog Squeakers had such a look of shock on her face, over our bedroom being changed! lol!!!! Took her a couple of days to get used to it! |
Thanks Klue!! It's a bit bigger than the other bedroom I was using! :D
|
Great room - enjoy it! You're very lucky, I share my room with the guest bedroom which is very, very tiny!
|
Don't you just love getting your space back. Your room looks great. Many happy hours in there.
My DS just moved back after graduating from college. Instead of giving up the largest bedroom (now my sewing room), I moved from the middle bedroom to the smallest. (He has more junk than I do in one place). I'll sleep on the couch if I can keep my sewing room. |
What a great space!!! Bet it feels good to spread out a little :D :D :D
|
Thanks Debbie! All of our bedrooms are tiny too! Whole house is only 916 sq ft! lol!!

Well done for all your efforts, I am sure you will bless the day you put in all that work and got your own space. |
Yeap, SandyBeach, I got my space back! :D My son (& his dog) was back home for almost a year, but now has a really nice apartment again.
Thanks Amma! :D |
You have a great work area -- and I love the fact that it's so warm and inviting with the personal touches like the pictures and baby bed. You make me think that I should put up more of my favorite family pictures and possibly get more organized in my sewing room. One of these decades, perhaps I will. THEN I'll post pictures!
|
Thanks LaceLady! I do feel very blessed to have my room, and all the goodies! I sometimes stand in the doorway, just looking at it. Sigh.... :-)
|
Awesome! When can we all come play?
|
Thank you Ducky!! The two pictures, which I love, were there when it was my bedroom, and I decided to keep them there.
Post photos of your room anyways!!! Doesn't matter if it's messy, all of ours are! - mine hasn't had any sewing done in it yet! Am going to correct that matter today! lol!!!!! :D |

Not so happy sewing & creating in there now, I'm making a dog wallhanging for my son's new apartment. Lots of 1" pieces! Grrrr lol!!!!!!! |
Looks great. Glad you got your sewing space back!!
|
Diana,
Your new sewing room is terrific!! :D I can just see that you will get hours of use from this room. Enjoy & sew lots. :D :D :D :D :D :D |
Looks great.

Thank you Gayle, SulaBug, and Quilt4U!!! :D
|
Thats great...I love it...I like the window by the sewing machine. Your design wall is like mine  Looks like it will be a great place to sew :D
|
Thanks Ruth! :-) Will be nice being able to lay things out on the wall, instead of the living room floor! Plus I think it'll spur me on to do more, seeing them there!
:D |
wow! it looks awesome. can i come and play?
|
Great Diana - my room is tiny. I have a while to wait before one of the kidds moves out so I can swipe their room - they're 7 and 4! LOL
|
Thanks Bev, and YES, you can come anytime!!!! :D :D
Thanks K!! This room really isn't very big either. We had a queen size bed in it, with room to walk around it. lol!!!! :D |

I love the wall paper in sewing room, and the baby cradle! :D |
Thanks Quiltncrazy! When I bought my house ten years ago, still had three kids at home who all said it wouldn't be long before they'd be moving out. So I thought it would be ideal for when it was just me. Ha. Never thought about them getting married, having kids, or myself remarrying... lol!!!! My husband had a house too, in a city a bit further, so he sold his and moved into mine. His was a bit too far from my kids! He finally quit reminding me that I had a bigger house and didn't want it, whenever I complain about how small this place is. lol!!!!!!!!!
Three of my kids have bigger houses where we now do the family dinners! :D And I have a finished full basement too, which definitly helps! |
Very nice, neat and organized! Very conducive to creativity.
warm quilt hugs, sue |
Thank you Sue!!
Warm quilt hugs back to you! :D |
Nice space!, with my mess I couldn't have started quilting unless I had a room with a door! Seems to me quilters are a group of people that don't suffer from "empty nest syndrome," when our babies leave its bye bye, kids, hello sewing room/time to do it!
