My new thread and trimmings catcher

I figured if my trimmings are good enough for my dog, they should be good enough for me. I made a small pillow shell and stuffed my threads and trimmings into it and now have a nice, almost-free, poofy, 12-inch pillow form. (Stitching lines are just to hold the batting in place while being stuffed. :) )

Now I feel guilty - I just threw out a bin full of what I considered rubbish from my sewing room yesterday.

Next time I will rescue all the threads and smallish cutoffs to create something useful.

What a great idea! I use them to make dog beds for shelters.

me too for dogs and cats. I just sent my son out with two shopping bags full for shelter. I learned the hard way that they do not like them too full because they will take too much time to dry in their dryers. I rotary cut some of my scraps into small scraps and added some fluffy filling.

I finally threw mine away because none of our local shelters had any interest in dog/cat beds of this type :-(
